While the Oregon Ducks Men's basketball team is struggling, fans can at least enjoy the fact that some former Ducks are still doing well in the NBA. Chris Boucher, a key contributor to Oregon's 2017 Final Four run and a 2-time NBA Champion, has been traded by the Boston Celtics to the Utah Jazz. However, Boucher will be a free agent after being waived by the Utah Jazz.
After the Ducks' heartbreaking loss in the Final Four almost eight years ago, many of the stars at Oregon were on their way to the NBA Draft. Jordan Bell, Tyler Dorsey, and Dillon Brooks were all taken in the second round of the 2017 draft. Boucher went undrafted and signed with the Golden State Warriors, where he won his first NBA championship.
Payton Pritchard was a member of that 2017 Ducks team, but wasn't drafted until the 2020 draft by the Celtics. While Dorsey and Bell are no longer in the league, Boucher is still around, and both Pritchard and Brooks are playing well.
Now, Boucher is leaving his former Oregon teammate, Pritchard, in Boston for a fresh start in Utah.

Chris Boucher's NBA journey
After spending one season with the Warriors on the bench, Boucher became a member of the Toronto Raptors. He spent 7 seasons with the Raptors, where he won his second NBA title in 2019. His best year came in the 2020-21 NBA season, where he averaged 13.6 points and 6.7 rebounds.
Just this summer, Boucher left the Raptors for Boston, teaming up with Pritchard. However, Boucher didn't get a whole lot of playing time and was out for a substantial amount of time with an injury.
After being waived by the Jazz shortly after they acquired him, he will get that chance to test the market and find a new home in the NBA.
