Denver second-year quarterback Bo Nix threw four touchdown passes, two of them to Troy Franklin as the Broncos bucked off Dallas in Mile High Stadium, 44-24.

The Oregon Heisman finalist riddled the Cowboy defense with 19-29 passing for 247 yards as Denver reached 6-2, alone in first place in the AFC West, a game ahead of Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers.

Nix hit Franklin, his old favorite target in Eugene, for a 25-yard score in the first quarter, jumping out to a 14-3 lead. He found rookie Pat Bryant with a 24-yard strike just before half to lead 27-10 at the break.

In the second half he went to Franklin again for a 7-yard score, then completed his superb day with a 5-yard TD pass to running back RJ Harvey.

The win made a nice followup to last week's 33-point fourth quarter comeback against the Giants. It makes five in a row for Sean Payton's squad after a 1-2 start.

Franklin caught six passes for 89 yards and the two touchdowns in his best day as a pro. Another former Duck, Dallas rookie cornerback Trikweze Bridges, nabbed Nix's only interception of the day.

The gunslinger from Pinson, Alabama has tallied 11 touchdown passes this season after throwing 29 as an NFL rookie. He's thrown for four TDs in a game twice before as a pro, against Atlanta and Kansas City in 2024.

In 2023 in his final season as a Duck, Nix threw for 4,508 yards and 45 touchdowns, finishing third in the Heisman Trophy balloting while leading Oregon to a 12-2 record and a win in the Fiesta Bowl.
