Always be 'crootin', no matter how bleak a season might be. No, this has not been a banner year for the Oregon Ducks. They are currently 8-16 on the season, a disastrous 1-12 in Big Ten play, and losers of 10 in a row. What kind of optimism is there to be had at this point for Dana Altman's team? Well, they could potentially land a player who was interested in them previously in Adam Oumiddoch.
Per Joe Tipton of On3/Rivals, Oumiddoch requested out of his commitment to St. John's on Tuesday.

Oumiddoch signed with St. John's on Nov. 12. The Overtime Elite standout was also in the mix to go to Illinois, LSU, and Villanova, in addition to Oregon. One would think one of those four teams are back in the mix to land his four-star commitment. According to the 247Sports Composite, Oumiddoch is the No. 3 player from Georgia, the No. 8 shooting guard, and the No. 49 prospect in the 2026 cycle.
Sometimes all a program needs is a true shooting guard to change its fading fortunes around fast.
Oregon back in the mix to land Adam Oumiddoch's 4-star commitment
Because Oregon was one of the five schools who got a visit out of Oumiddoch, that should matter when it comes to where he might actually end up at now. It should be noted that just because he plays for Overtime Elite based out of Atlanta, that does not mean he specifically hails from The Peach State. He is originally from Arlington, Virginia. Could it play a factor in his commitment for this cycle?
To be quite frank, Oregon might stand a better chance than any program in and around the DMV. By going to play for Overtime Elite, it just goes to show that Oumiddoch is willing to travel far to play ball. Oregon has all of that Nike money. Even though the Ducks have been horrific this season, this is truly the rare outlier in Altman's otherwise impressive coaching career. There is also this at play as well...
When people may argue against a rising freshman to come play for a 67-year-old head coach in Altman, Pitino is already 73... Clearly, distance traveled and the age of a head coach do not matter at all when it comes to where Oumiddoch will want to play his college basketball at. The other team to keep an eye on is Villanova. This is an ascending team led by former Maryland coach Kevin Willard.
Now that Oumiddoch is looking to get out of his St. John's deal, maybe Oregon is in play here again?
