First pitch swinging, Stefini Ma'ake launched a three-run homer high up the screen in left field to propel Oregon softball to a 9-1 victory over Michigan and a series sweep at PK Park Saturday.

The Women of Oregon have been Michael Jordan-Bulls dominant so far this season, compiling a 35-3 record, a sterling 15-1 at home. Ranked No. 5 in the country and 9-1 in conference they're tied with UCLA a half game behind undefeated Northwestern at 8-0.

The game was decided by run rule after four and half innings. Catcher Braiesey Rosa followed Ma'ake's blast with a solo home run over her own, giving the Lady Webfoots the decisive 8-run lead.

An ebullient freshman from Academy of Our Lady of Peace High School in San Diego, California, Ma'ake has crushed opposing pitching for 13 home runs and 46 RBIs with 15 games to go until the conference tournament on May 7-10.

In the circle, ace Lyndsey Grein struck out five and walked none to cruise to the win, as she has hurled her way to a 19-1 record in her junior year. She's fanned 138 in 103.1 innings with a sparkling ERA of 1.02.

Monday the Ducks host Loyola Marymount at the Jane, first pitch at noon on Big Ten+ and KWVA radio. Friday they travel to Bloomington for a three-game series versus Minnesota (13-22, 2-9 in the Big Ten.)
