The Oregon Ducks are currently on the ropes against the UCLA Bruins as Bob Chesney's team holds a 17-6 lead early in the 4th quarter. The game has been an absolute nightmare for the Oregon Ducks, especially on offense as Drew Mehringer's unit has looked out of rhythm the entire game. As there's been no answers for the offense, Oregon has even benched quarterback Dylan Raiola after an awful 3 quarters of QB play.
The Ducks are looking to get anything going in the 4th quarter as the Ducks started their first drive with Thomas at quarterback with a run play. The only problem is it may have cost the Ducks their star running back.
Jordon Davison exits UCLA game with an apparent injury
UPDATE: Jordon Davison returned to the game at the midway point of the 4th quarter.
Starting the 4th quarter, Oregon turned to Jordon Davison to try and get anything going on offense, and the back delivered a 5-yard gain. The only issue is that Davison remained down after the play with an injury.
The severity of the injury and what type of injury Davison is dealing with is still unclear, as the broadcast hasn't commented on it. Clarity on the injury may come after the game when Dan Lanning speaks to the media, or if the broadcast provides an update. This story will be updated when further information is provided.
Jordon Davison exited the game with 11 carries for 39 yards and a touchdown while fumbling early in the game trying to execute an option with Dierre Hill Jr.
Losing Jordon Davison would be a massive loss for this Oregon offense, which is looking for anything positive to try and fend off an upset loss to UCLA. As the Ducks are on their third quarterback, the rushing game really needs to find a rhythm to give the defense a break, otherwise, the rest of the season is going to be a grind.
Dierre Hill Jr is going to receive the majority of the carries with Jordon Davison sidelined, but the depth behind him is mostly unproven. Freshman Brandon Smith is third on the team in carries with 16, but they came in the blowout win over Portland State. Dajuan Riggs has looked good in limited playing time with 70 yards on 10 carries, and will likely be the next man up for the Ducks.
The other alternative for the Ducks may be starting to involve the wide receivers on flashy run plays as they aren't being involved much with the struggles at quarterback.
