Heading into the 2026 college football season, you look up and down the Oregon Ducks’ roster and see elite talent at every position. The player who rightfully draws the most hype is quarterback Dante Moore coming off his standout season. In order for Oregon to capitalize on having a Heisman candidate at quarterback, the Ducks need all the other pieces to live up to their potential.

When you look at the pass catchers Dante Moore will be throwing to, there will be no shortage of talent. In the wide receiver room everyone is expecting big seasons out of Dakorien Moore, Evan Stewart, and Jeremiah McClellan to post big seasons, but a transfer may be ready to emerge in a crowded room.

Incoming Oregon WR Iverson Hooks named to Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watchlist

With the 2026 college football season on the horizon, preseason predictions are being made from the AP and Coaches Poll to the Preseason All-American Teams. On Wednesday, The Tallahassee Quarterback Club unveiled the 2026 Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watchlist, with Oregon’s Jamari Johnson and Iverson Hooks making the list.

The Biletnikoff Award is given out annually, recognizing the college football season’s outstanding receiver, regardless of position.

Iverson Hooks being the Oregon wide receiver that made the list comes as a major surprise when you look at the rest of the wide receiver room. Dakorien Moore, Evan Stewart, and Jeremiah McClellan are the expected starting trio while Jamari Johnson will get a ton of targets at tight end, meaning at best Hooks on paper is the 5th option in the passing game.

The Ducks may also see some of the young promising wide receivers jump into big roles this season. Freshmen Gatlin Bair and Jalen Lott have impressed everyone at Fall Camp, and are clearly pushing for big roles in the offense.

The surprise of Iverson Hooks being the Ducks’ wide receiver on the Biletnikoff Award Watchlist isn’t a knock on his talent as he has the potential to be an elite piece in the offense. Last season on a struggling UAB team, Iverson Hooks caught 72 passes for 927 yards and 7 touchdowns so the sky is the limit with a quarterback as talented as Dante Moore.

Iverson Hooks making the Biletnikoff Award Watchlist speaks to just how deep this Oregon wide receiver room is heading into the season. Many can debate over Dakorien Moore, Evan Stewart, and Jeremiah McClellan being the Ducks’ leading wide receiver, and Iverson Hooks being in that mix as well shows the offense has four wideouts capable of leading the offense this season.

Stopping the Oregon offense is going to be almost impossible this season with all the talent the Ducks have assembled. With a Heisman candidate at quarterback, two players on the Preseason Biletnikoff Award Watchlist, another 3 potential WR1’s, and a stable of running backs, all the offensive line needs to do is play well enough to give Dante Moore some time, and the unit could be insanely explosive.
