Oregon football may have a bye this week, but it got some of the best news that it's received all season with one key player announcing that he's back.
That's right, Tez Johnson posted on Instagram this morning that he's returning to the team and all signs are pointing to the game after the bye which is Washington in 11 days.
This is the most welcomed news any Oregon fan could ask for, especially after witnessing the Ducks struggle to beat Wisconsin on the road this past weekend and put up just 16 points in the process. Having the team's top receiver for that game and for the past couple could have aided Dillon Gabriel's Heisman hopes and would've likely squashed the upset attempt by Wisconsin earlier in the contest.
On the year, Johnson has 64 catches for 649 yards and eight touchdowns and he essentially missed the entire Michigan game, getting hurt on his only reception early on, as well as the Maryland and Wisconsin games where the offense didn't look quite as dominant as it did in earlier weeks.
Getting him back just in time for the finale against Washington means he can shake off some rust against the Huskies before getting to work in the Big Ten title game as well as the playoff.
This news couldn't come at a better time because it means that he's likely going to be at full strength for the most important games of the year.
Unfortunately, his injury hurt Gabriel's Heisman hopes, but even he'd tell you that he doesn't care about any of that as long as Oregon keeps winning. Well, the Ducks are looking to keep winning all the way to the national title game and Johnson will help them get there.
