The Oregon Ducks head into the 2026 season with the program's best chance on paper to finally break through and win a National Championship. After back-to-back trips to the College Football Playoff and a Big Ten Championship, the Ducks keep knocking on the door, and eventually the group seems poised to win it all.
The roster returns a ton of talent, headlined by the trio of Dante Moote, Matayo Uiagalelei, and A'Mauri Washington, who all passed up on the NFL Draft to return for one last season. Along with the underclassmen and the incoming transfers, the roster is loaded with elite talent. As the Ducks look to fill some of the few holes in the roster, there are several former 5-stars ready to break out.

Trey McNutt - Safety
While the Ducks landed elite safety Koi Perich in the Transfer Portal, there's always competition in the secondary, whether it's for the role Perich will fill or to steal Aaron Flowers' role. Trey McNutt was one of the headline recruits in the 2025 recruiting cycle as the 2nd ranked safety in the country. The room is arguably the most talented of any room on the roster, but McNutt has the talent to jump into a key role next season.
Na'eem Offord - Cornerback
The defense has two of its cornerback positions seemingly set in stone with Brandon Finney Jr and Ify Obidegwu back in the fold. Even if the two are locked in on the outside, there will always be competition for snaps in certain defensive packages or in the case of injury. The Ducks won big landing Na'eem Offord in the 2025 cycle, and with a year in the program under his belt, he should be ready to make an impact.
Gatlin Bair - Wide Receiver
The Oregon Ducks made a splash in the 2024 recruiting class, landing Gatlin Bair, a 5-star wide receiver out of Idaho. Despite signing Bair two seasons ago, the Ducks will finally get him on campus as he's completed his 2-year mission trip. At the High School level, Bair was one of the fastest players in the country, and while he'll need to practice in the offense, getting him back into football with game experience should be a priority.
