The Oregon softball team looks genuinely unstoppable on offense after 5-0 start

The Oregon Ducks dominated their first five games of the season and outscored their opponents by a resounding 57 runs as the softball team went 5-0.

The Ducks start their 2025 softball season with a bang. 73 bangs to be exact. The Oregon softball team dominated in their first five games of the year and outscored their opponents by an astonishing 57 runs to build up a 5-0 overall record.

With 73 total runs on just 70 hits, the Oregon offense looked entirely unstoppable as they relentlessly beat down their opponents' defenses and bullpens.

Oregon Ducks softball vs. Buffalo Bulls – W, 21-1

The Ducks outscored the Buffalo Bulls by 20 runs in their first game of the season as they hit four home runs and stole home once. The Buffalo offense simply couldn't respond as Oregon's elite pitching staff threw eight strikeouts.

Oregon Ducks softball vs. Southern Utah Thunderbirds – W, 18-6

While their second game wasn't quite as big of a blowout victory, the Ducks outscored Southern Utah by 12 runs as they demolished pitches once again, hitting four home runs throughout the game. The Thunderbirds were able to earn a homer of their own during the 3rd inning but couldn't capitalize on their hits as they suffered through 10 strikeouts.

Oregon Ducks softball vs. Southern Utah Thunderbirds – W, 16-2

In Oregon's second game against Southern Utah, the Ducks' pitching staff was back to business as they allowed a minimal two runs on just three hits while earning four strikeouts. Meanwhile, the Ducks' hot batting continued as they connected with the ball for 14 hits.

Oregon Ducks softball vs. UNLV Rebels – W, 10-6

In Oregon's closest game from the weekend, the Ducks defeated the UNLV Rebels 10-6 to improve their record to 4-0 on the season.

While Dezianna Patmon connected for the Ducks' only home run of the game, the Rebels answered with a four-run home run during the 5th inning to bring the game within three runs. However, with talented closer Lyndsey Grein coming in to save the game, Oregon walked away victorious once again.

Oregon Ducks softball vs. Buffalo Bulls – W, 8-1

Oregon pitching dominated once again in the Ducks' final game of the weekend as they faced the Buffalo Bulls for a second time. Oregon allowed just one run by the Bulls while their bats seemed to cool off a bit and only scored eight runs of their own.

Oregon's first baseman, Stefini Ma'ake earned three RBIs on two hits, including a two-run home run during the 3rd inning.

The Ducks will continue their 2025 season at the Littlewood Classic in Tempa, AZ where they will face the Arizona State Sun Devils, North Dakota Hawks, Weber State Wildcats, Utah Valley Wolverines, Grand Canyon Antelopes, and the Belmont Bruins.
