Oregon does a tremendous job with their uniform looks and it's a huge recruiting tool. One old style needs to be revived.
The blend of tradition and innovation inspires nasty cracks from fans of other schools, but it's made the Ducks a popular program with kids, elite prospects and folks who play EA Sports College Football.
Last season the Ducks introduced new sets that honored "Generation O," colors and detail touches that honored "The Catch," the famous Akili Smith-to-Pat Johnson pass that beat Washington in 1997. They unveiled a retro Gang Green look, a black jersey, black pants and mallard green helmet combination for the Big Ten Championship.
Typically the Ducks introduce a new array of jerseys and uniform looks every three years, but there's one throwback style that desperately needs to happen.

Although the Ducks' design and equipment teams have incorporated diamond plate into some recent apparel looks, a set specifically styled to honor this era of Oregon football is overdue.
The images of the Bellotti bold font and the diamond plate shoulder pads, the clean Stormtrooper sets that subdued Michigan in the Big House and the Dawgs in Seattle, these are looks that deserve to be honored and celebrated.
The '07 and '08 teams boosted the Ducks to a new level. They featured future NFL players, speed and style. It was the beginning of Oregon's move to the spread offense, no-huddle, up-tempo offense and speed, speed, speed.
Would you bring back the diamond plates? ♢

The constant changes and unending combinations keep Oregon living rent-free in everyone's head, but many long-time fans like it best when they wear green and yellow, especially in Big games.
