This weekend, Marks, the final weekend of official visits for the summer for the Oregon Ducks as recruiting prepared to take a backseat to the season. Official Visit season has been very kind to the Ducks as the first 3 weekends of official visits resulted in 6 commitments helping the coaching staff build out this class.
While it’s important to track the recruits who are making their way to Eugene, it’s also important to keep an eye on where Oregon targets are also visiting. This weekend could be a positive for the Ducks with the players on campus, but one top target now appears to be trending away from Oregon.
Washington appears to be on the verge of landing 4-star Genova Doyal
Among Oregon’s top outstanding targets is offensive lineman Gecova Doyal. The 4-star out of the state of Washington was always going to be a battle for the Ducks, and it appears that the battle isn’t going well as Rivals’ Brandon Huffman now predicts the Huskies will win out for Doyal.
The news is less than ideal for the coaching staff as Doyal appeared to be leaning toward the Ducks heading into the weekend. The good news is that to this point, Washington hasn’t landed the commitment which gives the staff a chance to continue recruiting Doyal.
The Ducks have started to build a solid recruiting class on the offensive line with key pieces like Avery Michael, Gus Corsair, and Cameron Wagner. This class will likely be a bigger offensive line class in terms of quantity after the Ducks signed just 3 high school offensive line prospects last cycle.
The good news for the staff is at this point, there’s still a ton of top targets outstanding for the staff to land. Among the top targets, prospects like Caeden Moss, Ismael Camara, Lucas Rhoa, Lex Mailangi, and more are still there for the taking.
