The Oregon Ducks have used the Summer stretch of Official Visits to catch fire on the recruiting trail. After 4 weekends of Official Visits, Oregon’s recruiting class ranks 9th in the Country with 20 commitments. If the fanbase was going to have one knock on the class thus far, it would be the fact that the Ducks haven’t landed the signature big name recruits the fans are used to seeing.
The good news for the Oregon Ducks is that it appears the major recruiting wins are on the horizon. The Ducks have positioned themselves nicely with several elite targets, and barring any major shifts, they should win out. Making the Ducks' recruiting surge even sweeter is the fact that several of the top targets are going to commit shortly.

The news comes at the perfect time for the Oregon Ducks, given the recent momentum in Hayden Stepp's recruitment. The recruitment was long seen as a battle between the Ducks and Alabama, with Georgia and Cal trailing behind. The date is now set right after Oregon was named the new frontrunner, and projected to land Stepp by Rivals' Steve Wiltfong.
Getting Hayden Stepp on board would be a major win for the staff, given the way that the cornerback recruiting board has shaped up. Ai'King Hall flipped his commitment away from Oregon to Miami, while Donte Wright chose Miami over the Ducks making Hayden Stepp a top priority.
According to Rivals' Industry Recruiting Rankings, Hayden Stepp is a 4-star recruit ranked as the 40th ranked player in the country, the 5th ranked cornerback in the class, and the top player out of Nevada.
Hayden Stepp would make this recruiting haul at defensive back even more exciting, bringing all of these pieces together. Semaj Stanford is a fellow top 100 recruit, while Josiah Molden is an exciting 4-star cornerback. Malakai Taufoou marks another exciting addition from the West Coast, who Oregon also beat Cal for.
The hope for the Ducks now is that nothing flips over the next several days, as Alabama will certainly try what they can to turn the tide. Stepp would mark arguably the biggest win of the cycle, and it could kick off a domino effect for the Ducks.
