Despite getting the first bucket of the game, the Oregon women's basketball team was bested by the Indiana Hoosiers in the Ducks' first-ever appearance in the Big Ten Tournament.
The tale of turnovers is what sank the Ducks' ship as Oregon gave up the ball 18 times and only forced 12 turnovers by the Hoosiers. Usual stars like Deja Kelly and Phillipina Kyei also struggled throughout the matchups as they only combined for a minimal 13 points
In fact, in the 78-62 loss, Oregon's starters only scored a total 36 points as the bench players subbed into the game to combine for the remaining 26 points of the Ducks' total.

As Oregon struggled to find its shot, the Hoosiers excelled from the field, shooting 44 percent from beyond the arc for 11 made three-point shots.
Many players and coaches were unhappy with the way that the game was officiated, especially Indiana head coach Teri Moren, who slammed her hand down on the scorers' table at one point. However, the Hoosiers shot 18 free throws, making 17 of them, and the Ducks only went to the charity stripe for 17 shots, making just 14 free throws.
With the loss, Oregon was eliminated from its first Big Ten Tournament and flew home to (hopefully) prepare for an appearance in the NCAA or NIT Tournament. Meanwhile, Indiana moves on to the quarterfinals, where they will face the winner of the Michigan versus Washington game, which tipped off immediately after the Ducks and Hoosiers' game.
Oregon finished the regular season with a 19-10 overall record, a dramatic improvement from the Ducks' 11-21 finish in the 2023-24 season when they missed both postseason tournaments.
