The Oregon Ducks and UCLA Bruins meet again on Saturday Afternoon, in a historic West Coast Rivalry. The 2026 game carries major stakes for the first time in a long time as Oregon enters this matchup 3-1 and ranked 13th in the country while No. 21 UCLA is a perfect 4-0, and looking to prove they're a true contender under new head coach Bob Chesney.

The rivalry has gone through major swings as Oregon has spent the past 30+ years building up the football program and making it a priority while hiring missteps allowed the Bruins to fade in the National picture. After being poorly prepared to join the Big Ten, UCLA is finally showing some promise under Bob Chesney, and this game presents their first chance to truly prove themselves.

History shows that UCLA can beat Oregon, but in this new era of college football there's clearly a team with the upper hand in this matchup.

UCLA vs Oregon series history: Who leads the all-time series

When you look back at the history of this old school West Coast rivalry, UCLA holds a slight upper advantage over Oregon. Heading into Saturday's showdown, the Bruins have the all-time series lead with a 38-35 record. While UCLA holds the all-time lead, recent history has shown that the momentum of this rivalry has been dominated by the team in Eugene.

From 1935 through 1988, this rivalry was pretty one sided with UCLA going 28-10 accounting for most of their success vs Oregon. The Ducks started to make this a rivalry in 1989, and at the start of the 2000's it became one sided in the other direction.

Since 2000, Oregon holds a 16-3 record against the Bruins as the two programs have gone in different directions. Oregon has won the last 5 games against UCLA with an average margin of victory of 12.6 points. Over the last ten matchups, Oregon has gone 9-1 including he 2011 Pac-12 Championship Game with an average margin of victory of 18.67 points over those 9 wins.

This game marks Bob Chesney's first appearance in the rivalry as he'll look to get off to a good start amid a promising season for the Bruins. Dan Lanning on the other hand holds a 2-0 record over UCLA, winning with ease in both matchups. The two head coaches have only faced off once with Oregon knocking James Madison out of the College Football Playoff last season.

The disappointing factor of this game is with Dante Moore out with a concussion, the Ducks star won't get to face his former team. Moore broke the hearts of Oregon fans coming out of High School as a 5-star recruit by committing to UCLA, but eventually made his way to Eugene after spending one season as the Bruins' starting quarterback.

The two teams will add another matchup to this historic rivalry this time as top 25 teams on Saturday Afternoon at 12:30 PM PT with the game being broadcast on CBS and being played in Autzen Stadium.
