Duck fans, we're still dancing.

The No. 5 Oregon Ducks entirely demolished the No. 12 James Madison Dukes x-x, and just like that, "that team out West" is headed to the second round of the College Football Playoff.

With the quarterfinals next on the schedule, the Ducks are set to face the No. 4 Texas Tech Red Raiders, who are coming off a win over the BYU Cougars in the Big 12 Championship game.

Following Oregon's 51-34 win over JMU, Lanning and his squad are primed and ready to face the steep competition, but odds makers aren't quite as confident in the Ducks as they are in themselves.

Oregon favored vs Texas Tech in CFP quarterfinal

Against James Madison, the Ducks were only favored by 20.5 points, and the over-under was set at just 45.5 points. To put it simply, Oregon blew those odds out of the water against the Dukes and, hopefully, they can do more of the same against the Red Raiders.

  • Spread: -1.5 Oregon
  • Moneyline: -108 Oregon, -111 Texas Tech
  • Over-Under: 53.5 points

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Ducks are favored by 1.5 points (the spread), and the point total only opened at 53.5 points (the over-under or O/U). When it comes to the moneyline, someone would have to bet $108 on Oregon to make $100, or $111 on the JMU Dukes to win $100.

In comparison, the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes are favored by 9.5 points over the No. 10 Miami Hurricanes. No. 1 Indiana is favored by 7.5 points over No. 9 Alabama, and No. 3 Georgia is favored by 6.5 points over No. 6 Ole Miss.

So, the oddsmakers in Vegas clearly don't have as much faith in the Ducks as the other teams remaining in the CFP, even though Oregon is the only lower-seeded team favored over its opponent.

The win was Oregon's first CFP win since the first-ever playoffs in 2014, when the Ducks defeated the Florida State Seminoles before losing to Ohio State in the National Championship game.

No. 5 Oregon and No. 4 Texas Tech are scheduled to kick off at 9 a.m. PT on Thursday, Jan. 1, and the game will be broadcast on ESPN. Fans (of either side, but preferably of the Ducks) can flock to Hard Rock Stadium in Miami for the Capital One Orange Bowl.
