What a week it was for Oregon football truthers. After being left behind in the AP Top 25 through the first few weeks of the season, the Ducks took down a really tough Ohio State team on Saturday night to really put themselves in a good position to make a College Football Playoff run.

The remaining schedule for Oregon is more than winnable, starting this week at Purdue, but the Ducks need to be careful as to not overlook any of these inferior opponents on their way to the end goal. The playoff is in sight, they just have to remain focused.

But beating the biggest threat on the schedule midway through the year was a good start -- and it was something they didn't do a year ago, losing to Washington.

Now, Oregon controls its own destiny with six games remaining and a perfect 6-0 record.

Here's what I think the playoff rankings should look like if they were around for Week 8:

It still feels weird to put Iowa State in the top four but someone has to win that Big 12 and it's going to be either Kansas State, Iowa State, or BYU, it seems. One of those teams is going to get a top four seed and a bye which seems ridiculous to me considering how out of place they are compared to the other three teams.

Oregon, in my opinion, has done enough lately to earn that No. 1 spot. Texas may very well get it, but the Longhorns only beat a couple of overrated teams in Michigan and Oklahoma.

The Ducks currently have the best win in the country outside of Alabama, in my opinion.

If the season ended today, I think the committee puts them at No. 1.
