Given the way that the season has unfolded for the Oregon Ducks, most fans likely couldn't care less if the team showed up to the stadium in pink and purple for the rest of their games. At 4-3, the season has been disappointing, but it also won't make the program stray from what they've done traditionally. One of the traditions that a great portion of the fanbase loves is the weekly uniforms reveals the program does on social media.

This weekend's game against Northwestern lands on Halloween, which could've led to some awesome combinations, but given the way that the year has gone, Oregon couldn't go over the top. While the Ducks didn't go too crazy with their uniform choices this week, the Ducks did still make some unique choices.

Oregon unveils black and white uniform combination for Northwestern game

On Wednesday Night, Oregon turned to running back Dierre Hill Jr. to unveil the uniform combination for this weekend's game with a black and white themed uniform.

Oregon is going with a sleek and simple look this weekend, turning to a black and white combination that is one of the simplest looks the Ducks have worn in recent seasons. Oregon is going to wear black helmets with white wings on the sides, the black jerseys with grey and green numbers along with details around the shoulders, and simple white pants

According to graphic designer Jonah Henderson, this will be the first time ever that Oregon wears a black, black, and white combination and the first time that the Ducks have paired white pants with black jerseys. The helmets will also be a first, as it's the first time Oregon wears a black helmet with white wings.

Oregon may be using these uniforms to reflect the way its season has unfolded while still maintaining the uniqueness that defines the program. The Ducks have stripped away the flash with a simple black-and-white combination, in many ways returning to the basics. However, even as Oregon moves away from its typically flashy designs, it continues to embrace what makes the program unique by introducing an entirely new uniform combination.

All the fans are hoping for on Saturday Afternoon is for the team to give the fans a reason to be excited. Whether the excitement comes in black and white or green and yellow, all the fans want to see is the team return to winning games, and bringing the energy between the white lines. Winning this weekend will go a long way toward building back some hope, especially in a lost season that started with so much hope.
