Update: De’Anthony Thomas is OUT This week vs Colorado due to an ankle sprain, according to coaches.

It was the opening kickoff against the Cal Bears and Oregon Ducks Running Back De’Anthony Thomas took the ball and ran 27 yards before getting up and realizing something was wrong. His rolled his right ankle on the first play of the game and would not return to the field, but returned to the sideline after halftime with a boot on his foot and crutches. He took to Twitter and said he would be back ‘soon’ – of course with the University of Oregon policy of not talking about injuries we don’t know how quickly that will be.

In his post game press conference he was not on crutches. The Oregon Ducks running back simply said he hopes to be back when he can.

On Monday he took to Twitter and Instagram:

"ITS TOUGH HAVING THIS INJURY BUT ILL BE BACK SOON TO CONTRIBUTE TO MY TEAMOregon Junior Running Back De’Anthony Thomas on Twitter"
