Last season the kick heard around the Pac 12 was a clank off the goalpost as Stanford beat Oregon to take control of the Pac-12 North. Fast forward to 2013 and Saturday night it was a kick off the leg of the Trojans Andre Heidari that sent shockwaves through the Pac-12 that gave Stanford a 2nd loss and put Oregon back on top of the Pac-12 North giving them back control of their own fate to the Pac 12 Championship Game on December 7th.

The scene after the game was unreal at the Coliseum as several fans went to the hospital after being injured while rushing the field after the 20-17 victory. The Trojans have now won five straight games and echoing the words of Brent Musberger after the clocks hit zero, “The Trojans Are Relevant Again.” What has me confused is how a Stanford Cardinal team can be up for a ranked opponent at home and win against Oregon, then go on the road to face an unranked opponent and lose.

Regardless of the outcome of the season the fates have started to lay the groundwork for the Ducks to perhaps the National Title, but more importantly the Rose Bowl, where they could face a Michigan State team that they will get pretty familiar with. Oregon hosts Michigan State early next season on Saturday September 14th at Autzen Stadium. If that matchup does happen the bigger question is who will be around for the rematch next season.

Now the Ducks need to finish strong and win against the Wildcats and the Oregon State Beavers in the Civil War.

Oregon next heads to Arizona. Gametime and Network will be announced later today.
