Athlon Sports Top 50 Games of 2014: Oregon Ducks Reign in Top 5

It should be no surprise to anyone that the Oregon Ducks look to be National Title contenders in 2014 with a bevy of talent on both sides of the ball including returning Quarterback and Heisman Trophy Candidate Marcus Mariota. Athlon Sports recently released their list of the Top Fifty Games for the upcoming season the Oregon Ducks ranked high and long on the list. To start the Oregon Ducks are in the second, third and fourth spots – that’s three games in the top five.

Key contests with Stanford(2), UCLA(3), and Michigan State(4) warrant the attention for one, plus the Oreogn Ducks have an opportunity to put away any doubts that falling apart toward the end of the season last year won’t happen this season. An early season test in front of the nation will be the game with the Michigan State Spartans at Autzen Stadium, but the Ducks can’t be complacent and be caught looking ahead. To start the year South Dakota will enter Autzen with something to prove.

There are some other key Pac-12 matchups on the list including USC at UCLA and Stanford at UCLA this season. The Oregon Ducks start the regular season hosting the South Dakota Coyotes on Saturday, August 30th at 7:30pm Pacific Time. The game is on the Pac-12 Networks.
