Oregon Football struggled against Stanford, but in-game experience for fresh faces was a bright spot.

The Oregon Ducks have lacked experience at Quarterback. For the last two weeks and the Backups, Taylor Alie and Braxton Burmeister have not been effective on the field. It is never easy when your Offensive Philosophy comes to a brutal halt, but that is what has happened with Oregon Football. Last night against Stanford, Oregon had a total of 33 passing yards. 33. Let that sink in for a moment.

Justin Herbert can’t get back soon enough and could return  next week vs UCLA or the following week against Utah. Burmeister is talented and had a few highlight moments last night, but they were negated by penalties. The Oregon Football team is the most penalized team in all of College Football. They left close to 100 yards on the field again last night.

While Head Coach Willie Taggart turned the Oregon Offense one-dimensional again vs Stanford, there was a good reason at the time. Burmeister threw two interceptions. He did not have a viable backup as Alie was also ineffective starting the second half. The Oregon Defense played well and another Freshman made a highlight play. Deommodore Lenoir had an interception in the endzone stopping a Stanford Drive.

There is a lot of film from last night and a lot of mistakes that can be corrected, and will. Oregon Coaches will need time to get these players better. Remember, they already have as many wins as last season and this was NOT a National Championship season for the Ducks.

It also is not a National Championship season for the Pac-12 after Washington lost to Arizona State. The Conference may struggle with five weeks to go in getting a team in the Top 4 and the College Football Playoff.

Oregon Fans will need to have patience. Probably more patience than they have had in recent years. This team has some great players and probably the best recruiting class in the Nation arriving next season. We already know this team lacks experience in key areas and that Taggart is clearly not afraid to play Freshman.
