2012 NIT Tournament Second Round Predictions

#1 Tennessee over #4 Middle Tennessee

It is an intestate battle in the second round of the NIT Tournament as Tennessee will play Middle Tennessee. In my mind, Tennessee should be able to easily pull this win out, but at this point in the year anything can happen. Tennessee has a pretty balanced and spread out attack on offense. There is not just one player you can shut down in order to beat these guys. The one thing Tennessee does well is getting to the foul line and they showed it in their first round game against Savannah St. In their first round game, Tennessee got to the foul line for twenty-seven total foul shots and knocked down nineteen. If Tennessee can get to the foul line often and knock them down then they should beat Middle Tennessee.

#2 Miami (FL) over #6 Minnesota

The main reason why I feel that Miami (FL) will beat Minnesota in the second round of the NIT Tournament is turnovers. Miami (FL) is a team that has the possibility to make a opponent turn the ball over. In Minnesota’s first round game, they turned the ball over fifteen times. That means you have a team that turns the ball over with a team that likes causing turnovers. Because of this, I’m picking Miami (FL).
