#4 Lehigh Upsets Duke

Mar 16, 2012; Greensboro, NC, USA; Duke Blue Devils forward Michael Gbinije (13) and Lehigh Mountain Hawks forwards Holden Greiner (20) and Gabe Knutson (42) react at the end of the game. The Mountain Hawks defeated the Blue Devils 75-70 in the second round of the 2012 NCAA men

From one upset to another, Lehigh pulled off an amazing upset of the Duke Blue Devils in the Round of 64 on March 16th. Duke was a team all year that heavily relied on the three point shot. In their regular season home game against North Carolina, they lost that game solely on not being able to hit the three point shot at all in that game. In this Round of 64 match-up, there was no difference. Duke shot the ball terribly from beyond the arc going 6 of 26 in the game. The two Duke players that threw up the most three pointers in that game were Austin Rivers and Seth Curry. Both of these two Duke players had seven three point shots with Rivers making two and Curry making only one. For Lehigh, their guard C.J. McCollum completely tore Duke up offensively with thirty points on the game. Most importantly, McCollum had ten points from the foul line and had sixteen shots total from there. Duke lost this game exactly how they lost to North Carolina at home in the regular season. They shot terribly from three point land and let their opponent tear them up in the lane.
