Oregon Basketball: Pac 12 Tournament Seeding Scenerios Are Easy if Ducks Win

Oregon Basketball did their job on Thursday night. The return of Dominic Artis sparked the Ducks to a win against in state rival Oregon State 85-75. Head Coach Dana Altman and the team were idle for the rest of the weekend, which should give time for Freshman Damyean Dotson to heal from a hip injury suffered during the Civil War. Oregon won’t play again until this Thursday when they travel to Colorado. There is something good about ending the home season with a one game week. It gives you the opportunity to rest and let the other teams in the Conference to beat each other up a little.

The Cal Bears(20-9, 12-5 Pac 12) held of Colorado(19-9, 9-7) on Saturday 62-46. The other game that had conference moving implications was an upset. UCLA(22-7, 12-4 Pac 12) knocked off #12 Arizona(23-6, 11-6 Pac 12) at Pauley Pavillion 74-69, creating a tie at the top of the Pac 12. Nineteen of the Twenty Five games that were played yesterday involved ranked teams and some went down like the Wildcats. Including the Wildcats, five ranked teams lost on Saturday.

Looking at the Pac 12 Conference This Week Oregon is is good shape, win out and they take the Pac 12 Regular Season Title and will have the #1 Seed in the Pac 12 Tournament. Stumble on the final weekend of the regular season and the worst they can do is the #3 Seed in the conference tournament. Keep in mind the Top 4 teams get the first round bye, so to speak.

Oregon heads to Boulder to face Colorado Thursday 3/7(6pm, ESPN2) and closes out the regular season against Utah on Saturday 3/9(11:30a, Pac 12 Network)
