In case you missed the media interviews that took place in the morning we caught up with Head Coach Mark Helfrich and Quarterback Marcus Mariota to get their thoughts on the work leading up to Fall practice and what is expected moving forward toward the start of the season.

Former Oregon Duck LaMichael James didn’t see the field until late in the season last year, but that is going to change this season as OregonLive is reporting that James will become a bigger part of the offense in 2013 – in part as a kickoff return man. and also the primary punt returner. San Francisco’s first preseason game is Thursday against Denver.
According to several sources in the article James has improved as a player from last season and is ready to tackle 2013 for the chance at a Super Bowl Championship.
Monday was the first day of Fall Camp for the Ducks and local media was a buzz on several topics surrounding the team. Here are the links.
- Comcast Sportsnet caught up with Rick Neuheisel from the Pac 12 Networks to get his take on the Ducks in 2013.
- Jason Quick from the Oregonian talks about Oregon Quarterback Marcus Mariota. Some great questions for Mariota as he gets into his second season at the helm for the Ducks. He even had some thoughts on Texas A&M Quarterback Johnny Manziel, who almost came to Oregon.
- Andrew Grief from the Oregonian looks at the Defense for the Ducks and Comeback player Avery Patterson says he’s ready to go after a knee injury late last season.
Both Andrew and Jason are new to the Ducks beat in 2013 and we welcome them both to Eugene.
Oregon is now counting down the days to August 31st. Nicholls State looms at Autzen Stadium, pending a Hurricane keeping them from travelling to Eugene. (1pm, Fox Sports 1)
