Last season at this point the Oregon Women’s Basketball team was not a headlining act. However, this is a different season. Oregon has the top scoring offense in the country and now a six game winning streak after defeating Cal Poly at Matthew Knight Arena on Friday night 124-87. Oregon Head Coach Paul Westhead has to be proud that his ‘system’ finally has the chance to flourish after several disappointing seasons with key injuries and losing records.

For the game against Cal Poly Oregon scored over 100 points for the fifth time in a row and had five players in double figures. Not to mention they went against a team that has five players at 6 foot 2 or higher. The Ducks held their own by winning the rebounding battle 60-45 and putting up 50 points in the paint. Jillian Alleyne had her eight double double scoring 19 points with 16 rebounds for the game.

"I felt really comfortable tonight I think we are really starting to gel as a team and be confident in each other and what our roles are. I think it’s really paying off and showing in games now.Oregon’s Lexi Peterson on the Win Friday and Team Chemistry"

Last season did not start out so well as the team began 2012 2-8. The Oregon Women will next take on Cal State Northridge at Matthew Knight Arena on December 29th. Gametime is set for 4pm (Pac 12 Live Stream)
