The Oregon Ducks NCAA hopes likely will be determined on their performance on Sunday against ninth ranked Utah. Dana Altman and his team will need a win. The game will also be the final time for fans to see the team at home this season as the Ducks will finish out the regular season on the road. Oregon Senior Joseph Young, who has led the team this season in several ways will also see his Matthew Knight Arena career come to an end, and it is quite the game to do it. Young is averaging over twenty-six points per game his last five games.

Oregon is in need of a signature win this season. As a team they have worked on finding their identity and a victory over Utah could not only establish this team as a real contender, but could also help in a big way with post season committees. This week the Ducks are on the outside looking in according to several sites that predict teams for the NCAA Tournament in March.

Young, Altman and the Oregon Ducks will also reach their twentieth win of the season with their next victory. I remember not too long ago when a twenty win season pretty much guaranteed an appearance in the NCAA Tournament, however that is not likely for this season. The Pac-12 has been very competitive and Utah will be no easy task.

The Utes enter Matthew Knight Arena winning their last six games in a row, three of them on the road. Senior Delon Wright leads the team with fourteen points and close to five rebounds per game. Utah is also one of the bigger teams that the Ducks have faced this season and big teams have caused the Ducks problems. A quick start will be important on Sunday.

Aside from the game the University of Oregon is making the game an event by honoring the 2014 football team at halftime. All three trophies from the season will also be on display before the game including the Heisman Trophy and the Rose Bowl Championship Trophy for fans to view and have a picture if they wish. Doors open at 10:30am and tipoff with Utah is set for just after Noon on Fox Sports 1.
