By Mike Vamosi
Last night we learned that the PAC-12 received four bids for the men’s NCAA tournament that begins on Thursday across the country. Regular season and tournament champion Arizona earned the highest bid with a two seed which has number one seed Wisconsin.

Oregon who lost to the Wildcats on Saturday night in Las Vegas also found themselves out west as the eight seed. Should the Ducks defeat Oklahoma State they’ll likely face the Badgers who square off against Coastal Carolina. It’ll be a homecoming for Dana Altman a native Nebraskan who also led Creighton University before heading to Eugene.
The South region has two PAC-12 teams with Utah earning the five seed and UCLA a hotly debated 11 which both also joining ‘Zona in Portland. Standing in the Utes way will be Stephen F. Austin who defeated VCU last season in the tournament and is a pesky 12 seed.

UCLA is a team that many media pundits have decried about getting a spot in the NCAA tournament. The Bruins will face Larry Brown’s SMU team who haven’t made the tournament in some time. Last time Brown got a team into March was the Kansas Jayhawks team known as Danny (Manning) and the Miracles team of 1988. TV times are set for Thursday and Friday with this weekend being announced last on this week.
