The Indiana Pacers officially added second round pick Joe Young to their roster. General Manager Larry Bird previously indicated that he felt Yo ung would have a very good chance of making the team. Young will have an opportunity to compete against many other newcomers to the league, and he’ll likely be responsible for a sizable chunk of the scoring load–something he’s accustomed to.
One anonymous Eastern Conference scout said he would not be surprised if Young turns out to be a steal for the Pacers, who admitted that they didn’t think he would be available at the time that they selected him. He’s expressed excitement about being a Pacer and fell in love with the team immediately Young will be wearing jersey No. 1. The Orlando Pro Summer League will begin on July 4th and run through July 10th.
As expected, Arsalan Kazemi was added to the Philadelphia 76ers Summer League roster in Las Vegas. Each team in the league will play 3 games, before a double elimination style “tournament” will begin on the 15th of July. Teams will play a minimum of 5 games, but could play up to 8, depending on results. It could be argued that Kazemi is the best collegiate player on the roster, which will surely benefit him. He became a fan favorite instantly, and Sixers fans are always ecstatic when he rejoins the team. He will be wearing jersey No. 14. The Las Vegas Summer League begins on July 10th.
