Another exciting year for the University of Oregon department of athletics has come to a close. Along the way, our team at Autzen Zoo brought you all of the latest news and stories on your team. The year began with a Rose Bowl win over Florida State before Vernon Adams was even a possibility. Eight month later the Eastern Washington transfer became the answer for the departed Marcus Mariota leading the team to the Alamo Bowl. There were other sports that had successful seasons in 2015 from Baseball to Softball to Track and Field.

2. Matthew Mariota Coming to Eugene To Play Football for the Oregon Ducks

The last name Mariota will make headlines anywhere in Eugene. Fans gushed over the arrival of Marcus Mariota’s younger brother, Matthew. Matt plays outside linebacker for the Ducks, but redshirted this season. Having a Mariota on the team can only boost the character of the team. After a gruesome leg injury that was suffered in November of 2014 against Utah, Pharoah Brown has been in the hearts of every Oregon fan. Brown is on the road to being 100% again, and recently took his first hit in practice. He has no doubts that he will return at full speed in time for next fall.
