Day 2 Final Report

The NCAA Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field this year will be the lead into the Olympic Trials. Oregon has 32 athletes competing overall and the Oregon Women have their chance to make a move in a very crowded field on Thursday.

The Decathalon will begin the day as the Men of Oregon, Mitch Modin and Joe Delgado look to move up from the middle of the pack through the final five events with the Hurdles, Discus, Pole Vault, Javelin and 1500 meter run before the conclusion of the day. The NCAA Championships turn to the Women’s Field for track events.

Fourteen Women of Oregon will take to the Track Thursday including Raevyn Rogers in the 800 meters and Brittany Mann in the Shotput. Look for the Oregon Men to add some points with the wrap up of the Decathalon and for the Oregon Women to make a statement or two on their home turf on Thursday.

Justin Phillips will provide Live Hourly Updates from the NCAA Championships, those reports can be heard here.
