Ducks Defensive Front Should Dominate

The first half statistics against UC Davis shed a lot of light on what the Oregon D was good at early. They held the Aggies to negative Rushing yards a good part of the first half. Brady Hoke will have his guys ready to go that again this week. Troy Dye was a big reason for that success against the run with 7 tackles for loss.

If Virginia finds themselves in a lot of second/third and long situations it is going to be a very long night for Mendenhall and the Cavaliers in a rowdy Autzen Stadium. The 4-3 Defense unveiled last weekend has a lot of moving parts, which can be confusing. Oregon is in the starting phase of learning and implementing the system. Giving up points now should not be a concern for fans, but Saturday night could see some big steps forward for the Oregon Ducks.
