On Sunday, a second Oregon Coaches’ son announced he will be playing next season in Eugene at Sheldon High School.

Eugene is quickly becoming a talent pool for the future of College Football. Of course, it helps when your an Oregon Football Coach and you want your family closer to where you work. In this case the elder Woodie is a Special Teams Coach hired by Willie Taggart. His son, Raymond Woodie III is heading to Eugene as the number 8 ranked Quarterback in the Class of 2019.

As it stands, the Oregon Ducks are on his radar and he holds offers from Michigan State, Penn State and USC to name a few. Woodie joins another member of the Class of 2019 at Sheldon High School.

Michael Johnson Jr, son of Oregon Wide Receiver Coach Michael Johnson was first to announce he was coming to Eugene. He is considered the top dual threat Quarterback in the Class of 2019. It will be interesting to see how these two young men pan out with the respective Sheldon Irish Coaching Staff since there is such an upside for both.

The 2019 season will be an important one for Oregon Football and if Head Coach Taggart is still leading the team, one or both could play a big part in the future for the Program. Of course, having parents working on a new culture for the Oregon Ducks doesn’t hurt either.

Johnson and Woodie III will be joining the Sheldon Irish for the Fall of 2017. For those in Eugene, I have a feeling that High School Football will also become something worth watching over the next few years.
