While the primary focus on Saturday was Oregon Football, two former Oregon Basketball players met for the first time on an NBA floor.

Dillon Brooks and Jordan Bell played together at the University of Oregon, leading the team to the Final Four last season. Fast forward to the start of the NBA season last week and Bell is a member of the Golden State Warriors. Brooks is with the Memphis Grizzlies. They met for the first time at the Professional level on Saturday in Memphis.

Golden State was looking to start a winning streak after losing the opener against Houston. Jordan Bell had eight points against the Rockets. Against the Grizzlies he was limited to just four minutes on the floor. Memphis was ahead for most of the game and won in the end, 111-101.

Brooks is expected to be a centerpiece and played well. He was on the floor for 32 minutes. He was 4 for 7 with 9 points in the game. Defensively he had 2 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and a block for Memphis.

The Grizzlies have started the season 2-0, and Golden State is 1-2 to start the season.

The storyline for Oregon fans was Brooks and Bell, but the storyline for the game was the final minute. Steph Curry and Kevin Durant were ejected as the Warriors pulled to within 8 points at 107-99. It was a frustrating night and start to the season for the Golden State Warriors. It was the third quarter that took the Warriors out of the game hitting just 6 for 22 from the floor.
