Oregon played a fast-paced game, but late fouls were an issue as the Ducks lost on a Boise State buzzer-beating shot, 73-70.

The Oregon Ducks looked to take new talent against an experienced Boise Broncos team that started the season 6-1 at Matthew Knight Arena.

Oregon started the game 1 for 9 from the field and before the end of the first half, Boise State found themselves in the same 1 for 9 rut. The first half saw both teams rebound well. The Ducks had 12 to Boise State’s 15. Payton Pritchard had 8 points and two three-pointers. The Ducks held Boise State with solid three-point Defense with the Broncos going 0-8.

Oregon put up 8 assists in the first 20 minutes and led 34-30 heading into the locker room.

The second half saw Payton Pritchard step up the pace pushing Oregon but Boise State would not go away, always keeping within single digits and tying the game with 6:40 left at 56. MiKyle McIntosh fouled out. Justinian Jessup gave Boise State the lead at 5956 and the Ducks answered with an MJ Cage slam dunk to pull within one 59-58.

Boise State scored the next five points to take a 64-58 lead including another three-pointer from Jessup forcing an Oregon timeout. The Broncos committed a 10-second violation with a one-point lead with 1:50 left in the game as the Ducks took the ball. Elijah Brown was fouled and went to the line, hitting both free throws to put Oregon up 1, 68-67. On the ensuing possession, Boise State turned the ball over.

With under a minute to go, the game was tied at 70 after Payton Pritchard tied the game with a layup. Overtime was almost certain, but Lexus Williams had other ideas. He hit a 50 foot shot from the center of the ‘O’ at Center Court to give Boise State the win 73-70 with a second to go. The Nation leading 46 game winning streak is over as the Ducks enter Finals week.
