The Oregon Ducks have a short list in mind for who they would like to take over the position. One name stands out to me more than the others. Kevin Sumlin may be on that list and would be a perfect fit. He is a better recruiter than Willie Taggart over his career and would immediately connect with recruits to try and save the Class of 2018 to the best of his ability.

Kevin Sumlin, like former Oregon Quarterback Marcus Mariota, has a connection to another former Duck recruit in Johnny Manziel. Sumlin started Manziel at Texas A&M in 2012. The duo led the Aggies to an 11-2 record that included a win over Alabama. Sumlin can connect with recruits. He is 86-43 in his coaching career and 4-3 in bowl games.

Sumlin is an Offensive mind having coached Wide Receivers, Tight Ends, and being an Offensive Coordinator throughout his career. According to College Football Matrix and Dave Bartoo he is also a better recruiter than Taggart.

Kevin Sumlin was recently fired from Texas A&M after a lackluster season and loss to LSU. He was Head Coach of the Aggies for the last six seasons.
