The Oregon Ducks Women’s Basketball team were 2-0 in the Duel In The Desert, beating Texas A&M and Hawaii.

Oregon Head Coach Kelly Graves watched Offensive Efficiency in action. The same Offensive Efficiency that was a big part of his blueprint when he arrived in Eugene. Sabrina Ionescu led the way with 19 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists. She finished midway through the fourth quarter and did not return with the potential for more in sight. She did not need to.

Ruthy Hebard cleaned up inside the paint for 18 points. She shot 80 percent going 8 for 10 from the floor. The Rainbow Warriors struggled on Defense and had 20 turnovers for the game. Hawaii was held to 1 for 8 shooting to finish the game losing to Oregon 85-44. Graves had Oregon firing on all cylinders throughout the two game tournament.

The Oregon Ducks did not let up against an inferior opponent in Hawaii. Texas A&M was a team that Oregon already saw this season and the Aggies found foul trouble early allowing Oregon to find ways to dominate early and often. Oregon kept their turnovers down for both games with 23 total over two days.

Offensive Efficiency with Assists was key. Oregon had 20 vs Hawaii as Ionescu led again with 8 for the game. Oregon shot 48 percent from the floor vs the Rainbow Warriors and held Hawaii to two made three-pointers. The Ducks Perimeter Defense is a big strength of this team. Graves has shown the Ducks can shut down opponents from a distance and still maintain a certain Offensive Prowess with multiple players on that end of the floor.

The Oregon Ducks have won three straight games and are 11-2 entering Pac-12 play next weekend. Washington and Washington State come to Matthew Knight Arena. The Cougars face Oregon first and are 7-5 on the season. They have wins vs Nebraska and Boise State.
