Oregon Ducks Plagued By Oregon State Shooting In Loss
The Oregon Ducks played from behind most of the game and lost an opportunity for an early Conference win vs Oregon State.
There are games throughout the season where you need to play your best to have a chance at winning. On Friday night, Oregon State played their best game of the season shooting better than 50 percent from the floor. The result was a Pac-12 Win over the Oregon Ducks. Oregon State is a team on the rise as they continue to build on experience from last season. It has made them a stronger team.
Tres Tinkle was 7 for 15 from the floor and scored a double-double on the night. The Oregon Ducks, on the other hand, were never ahead. They played from behind nearly the entire game. The Ducks cut the OSU lead to one at halftime. Kenny Wooten had some flashy moments but fouled out in the end.
Paul White had a big game for the Oregon Ducks scoring 16 points leading just two players in double figures. Oregon State limited Oregon to just 36 percent shooting from the floor and pulled away after halftime to seal a 76-64 win.
If there was a game that Oregon needed to win, it may have been this one. The Oregon Ducks enter a stretch on the road facing Arizona State and Arizona next week. Both are the only ranked teams in the Pac-12 Conference. While the Ducks still have a chance at the NCAA Tournament, the loss on Friday night gives Oregon State the leg up.
There is still a long way to go in the season Oregon still has a chance to turn things around and Head Coach Dana Altman is the right coach. He has done it before – multiple times in fact. Oregon has the rest of the weekend to get better, to get guys healthy and prepare for the Wildcats and Sundevils.
