Dillon Brooks Will Play In Rising Stars Challenge During NBA All-Star Weekend

Former Oregon Duck Dillon Brooks has been hot of late with multiple games of 20 or more points for the Memphis Grizzlies. He has found his place on the floor an on Wednesday was named to World Team of the Rising Stars Challenge, an event that will be played during the NBA All-Star Weekend next month.

Brooks has played in every game this season for the Memphis Grizzlies, starting in 38 games. His is averaging 8 points and 3 rebounds per game and is also hitting over 45 percent from the floor and 40 percent from three-point range which puts him fourth among NBA Rookies.

The World Team is built around players outside the United States and has some of the NBA’s Top Talent including Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid, both with the Philadelphia 76ers, Bogdan Bogdanovic from the Sacramento Kings, and Jamal Murray from the Denver Nuggets.

They go up against the team from the United States that is also stacked with talent including Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum from the Boston Celtics, Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kuzma from the Los Angles Lakers, and Kris Dunn from the Chicago Bulls. The game takes place on Friday, February 16th in Los Angles.

The Memphis Grizzlies(17-29) are currently ranked 12th in the Western Conference. The team hosts the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night. For the moment, Dillon Brooks has the hot hand. I expect he will see some extended playing time.
