Philadelphia Eagles LeGarrette Blount Ready To Set Tone vs New England Patriots
Former Oregon Running Back LeGarrette Blount could play a big role for the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 52.
The Oregon Ducks will be represented well at Super Bowl 52. Four former players will be playing in the NFL Championship game, two from the Philadelphia Eagles and two from the New England Patriots.
The storylines for LeGarrette Blount in his time in the NFL is well documented. He has spent a big part of his career with the New England Patriots, winning a Super Bowl with them. Now, he is on the opposite sideline with the Underdog Philadelphia Eagles. Blount played his part well this season being used primarily as a short yardage back to pick up first downs.
Blount had a key touchdown run against the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship game last weekend. For the season he has been healthy and was able to put up some solid numbers to the tune of 766 yards on the ground. He has just two touchdowns on the season, but they both counted big against the Patriots and against Atlanta.
With the late-season addition of Jay Ajayi from Miami, the Philadelphia Eagles seem to have found their Lead Running Back heading into the Super Bowl. However, expect LeGarrette Blount to get his carries when they will matter most against his former team. I’m sure the former Oregon Duck would like nothing more than to score a touchdown against his former team.
Blount can also be a threat in the passing game but has not been targeted through the air very much this season. Carson Wentz and Nick Foles have had time in the pocket to find their primary outlets in the passing game.
