Former Oregon Quarterback Vernon Adams On The Move Again

ST. PETERSBURG, FL - JANUARY 23: Vernon Adams Jr.

Former Oregon Football Quarterback Vernon Adams has found a new home in the CFL.

Adams has played for the Montreal Alouettes for the last two seasons. He saw action in three games in 2016. Despite being healthy in 2017 and dressing for every game he did not play. Last week he was traded from Montreal to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats for Linebacker Charleston Hughes.

Vernon Adams mentality has not changed since he played for the Oregon Ducks. He still feels he is young enough to compete. He will play for June Jones, who spent time at both the NFL and NCAA Level and he will also play with another former Oregon Duck, Jeremiah Masoli. Adams spent his first 48 hours with his new team going through the ‘new player’ grind but also having some fun on Social Media with the teams’ fans.

Adams is becoming a well-traveled member of the CFL. Following the 2017 season, he was traded to the Saskatchewan Rough Riders before landing with Hamilton making the Tiger-Cats his third team in the Canadian Football League – four if you count the team that originally signed Adams, the BC Lions.

There are more familiarities with the Tiger-Cats than any of his previous stops. He has worked with June Jones before. Jones helped coach Adams to an MVP Performance in the College All-Star game two years ago and the connection with Masoli will help with the transition to his new team.

Vernon Adams helped the Oregon Ducks to a 7-3 record in 2015 and an appearance in the Alamo Bowl.
