Oregon Ducks vs Arizona Wildcats Cheat Sheet
The Oregon Ducks(18-10,8-7 Pac-12) take on the Pac-12 front-runners in Arizona(22-6, 12-3 Pac-12) on Saturday night at Matthew Knight Arena.
It is Senior Night for Oregon which means some emotion could play a part in the game with Elijah Brown, Roman Sorkin, and MiKyle McIntosh among those playing what could be their final game at Matthew Knight Arena. After the news broke yesterday of an FBI Probe involving Arizona Head Coach Sean Miller it was announced that Assistant Head Coach Lorenzo Romar will coach Arizona against Oregon.
Romar is not a stranger to Oregon Basketball having faced them in season’s past with the Washington Huskies. Arizona averages 83 points per game, but that is with their key players in the game. Allonzo Trier will not play against Oregon. He was suspended before the Oregon State game Thursday for PED use that should be cleared up sooner rather than later. He had the same issue last season and was cleared.
For the Oregon Ducks, Payton Pritchard is averaging 14 points per game hitting better than 40 percent from three-point range. Last time out against Arizona State Elijah Brown had the hot hand scoring a team-leading 19 points for the game and hitting big baskets at the end of the first half to give Oregon the lead and continuing his streak into the start of the second half.
Oregon will have to play a complete game on Saturday against Arizona. The Wildcats can claim the Pac-12 Title at Matthew Knight Arena with a win – also securing the #1 seed in the Pac-12 Tournament in Las Vegas in two weeks.
