Oregon Ducks Find Their Offense In Win Over Washington Huskies
The Oregon Ducks(20-11, 10-8 Pac-12) needed a win on the road and found one against the Washington Huskies(20-11, 10-8 Pac-12) on Saturday 72-64.
Oregon was all business and took control early against Washington. The Ducks shot 41 percent from the floor and were hot from beyond the arc shooting 48 percent. Payton Pritchard who missed the game-winning shot on Thursday against Washington State turned it around.
Pritchard was 4 for 6 from three-point range with a team-leading 14 points. The Ducks were also solid on the boards. Washington was outrebounded 37 to 29 for the game.
The Oregon Ducks picked up a key road win when they needed it most to close out the Pac-12 Regular season, but it may already be too late. The Ducks clamped down on Defense holding the Huskies scoreless for the final four minutes of the game shooting 0 for 5.
After playing just 9 minutes with foul trouble Thursday, Paul White played better. He was 4 for 8 from the floor and 1 for 2 from three-point range scoring 13 points. If the Ducks are going to make a move in the Pac-12 Tournament this week, White could very well be the key player that needs to be playing his best.
With the win, Oregon is the six seed in the Pac-12 Tournament starting this week in Las Vegas. The Ducks will not have a ‘bye’ which is given to the top 4 seeds and will begin play Thursday. Their opponent is Washington State. The Ducks and Cougars split their season series 1-1 with each team earning a home win.
If the Ducks get past Wazzu, they face Utah and then potentially a Civil War matchup with Oregon State, but first things first. Oregon does not have an advantage in the bracket. All of their games are at night, which could be to their benefit the way the television schedule shook out this season.
