Oregon Ducks Starter Megan Kleist was dominant despite giving up three hits against Arizona State(33-6, 7-3 Pac-12).
The Oregon Offense(33-6, 8-2 Pac-12) put up runs in the final three frames to win 5-0. Jenna Lilley and Mary Iakopo came through with home runs. Iakopo took her turn at third base for the first time this season as Jenna Lilley was Designated Player. Mia Camuso returned to her familiar role at first base.
Mary Iakopo was also 2 for 2 in the game. Lilley was hit by a pitch last Sunday as Oregon hosted Arizona, and seemed okay after being hit by a pitch. She came through with a home run in the first game of the three-game series.
Oregon Ducks Starter Megan Kleist picked up back to back 10 strikeout wins after shutting out Arizona State on Friday. The Oregon Junior is now 13-4 on the season and has shown she is one of the best pitchers on the nation in recent weeks. Kleist, along with Starter Miranda Elish have put the Oregon Ducks among the top three teams in the country in 2018.
The Oregon Ducks also beat one of the better-opposing pitchers this year in Giselle Juarez. The ASU Starter threw a one-hitter two weeks ago, but Oregon gave her just her second loss of the season. Juarez may get the start again on Saturday as Arizona State looks to even the series. Oregon will likely go with Miranda Elish who threw a perfect game last week against Portland State.
