Oregon Basketball Recruiting: Nevada Transfer Considering Ducks?
The Oregon Ducks Men’s Basketball team will enter the 2018 season with a ton of young talent and just one player with floor experience as a Starter in Payton Pritchard. Key players on Defense will return with Kenny Wooten forgoing his chance at the NBA and coming back to school. The Ducks did lose Troy Brown Jr, who was the first one and done player with Dana Altman and the Oregon Ducks.
Entering the upcoming season, Oregon brings in one of the most talented recruiting classes in the their history led by 6 foot 7 Center Bol Bol. Last season, Transfers Elijah Brown and MiKyle McIntosh helped keep the Oregon Ducks balanced.
Head Coach Dana Altman has always had the eye for transfer talent and he will need to tap into that pool again for 2018. Oregon should add another piece, perhaps two into the mix. Ehab Amin could be on their list. Amin committed to the Nevada Wolfpack, but spent the last season recovering from a hip injury and losing his starting position.
Amin has good numbers averaging 17 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals per game in 2016-17. According to 247 Sports, Amin is ‘interested’ in talking with Oregon Basketball and Altman.
Last season the Oregon Ducks went into the regular season with high hopes, but team chemistry was an issue. Consistent play throughout the season was a rarity. Oregon did step up to beat Arizona at home late in the year pushing them into the post season and the NIT.
Despite missing the NCAA Tournament, Oregon played just two games in the NIT defeating Rider at Matthew Knight Arena before losing to a more experienced Marquette team on the road ending their season. New Recruits will be arriving in Eugene later this summer to begin preparing for the 2018 season.
