Troy Brown Will Find Future Success By Looking At His Past
Former Oregon Duck Troy Brown Jr. was selected in the first round of the 2018 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards, who already know what they have in a rising young star.
Brown was the second youngest player in the NBA Draft. He enters the league hungry to improve his game after struggling in his one season at the College Level with the Oregon Ducks. Despite shooting just 29 percent from three-point range last year, he did find points in key games for Oregon at home but struggled on the road.
In a road game at Arizona, the shots simply did not fall for him, but when the Wildcats came to Eugene, Brown and the Ducks found a way to beat Arizona, who played without Head Coach Sean Miller. Of course, the NBA is a different animal from college and being a first-round NBA Draft pick means you are more likely to see the floor in your first season.
Troy Brown understood his first season at Oregon, and in the Pre NBA Draft Process sold teams on his abilities and his future success. He traversed the country with a heavy workout schedule and the Washington Wizards saw the writing on the wall. One switch last Summer sealed his future with Washington.
In his last summer on the AAU circuit before becoming an Oregon Duck, he decided to play off the ball and go to a wing position, a key spot that the Washington Wizards were looking to fill.

At 18 years old, Brown has shown he has the ability to play the game at the next level. He can play on or off the ball. He has a flair for getting the ball to his open teammates and has shown some instinct at the college level for success. It will be entertaining to see what he can do on an NBA Floor.
