Former Oregon Duck Chris Boucher appears to have found a new home with the Toronto Raptors.

For a player that did not play much basketball before College, the story of Chris Boucher is looking to have a happy ending. After being released by the Golden State Warriors last month after a season-long experiment and a single game at the NBA Level last year, Boucher has made a fast impression with a new team. This one is closer to his home country.

Earlier this week Chris Boucher signed what amounted to a Training Camp invitation for the Toronto Raptors. Over the last few weeks, he has been working out with the Raptors in Las Vegas during NBA Summer League play and had several impressive performances that warranted a look from the Toronto top brass.

Boucher is working his way back from an ACL Injury and showed improvement with Golden State last season, but in the NBA Summer League he also showed off is shooting skill from beyond the arc along with his blocking skill that was a signature of his gameplay style with the Oregon Ducks. Following the release from Golden State last month along with playing a short time with Team Canada, the former Oregon Duck has not stopped pushing to get to the next level, even through injury.

NBA Training Camp begins in September and Boucher may have several options. One, to sign with the Toronto Raptors and play in the NBA, the second, to do what he did last season and sign a two-way deal to play for both the Raptors, but likely start with their G-League team. Toronto has shown already in the offseason they are all in.

The team has traded for Kawhi Leonard making them a potential team to challenge for the NBA Title next season. If Chris Boucher is able to prove he can play at the next level he could be a key player to get the team to the NBA Playoffs next season.
