3. Atlanta Falcons (No. 4 overall)

There’s plenty of speculation about Atlanta taking its quarterback of the future at No. 4 overall, but let’s say Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, and Justin Fields go Nos. 1, 2, and 3 overall; what then?

The Falcons would have to figure out a different position to take. Sure, they could take Trey Lance, but I don’t know if he’s top-five worthy right now. He’s being drafted more on potential rather than him being ready to go right away. Matt Ryan will still be the starting quarterback this season, presumably, so letting him learn for a year wouldn’t be terrible.

But Atlanta could also use a tight end (hello, Kyle Pitts) or an offensive tackle. Why not take the best available offensive lineman in this draft class to help protect whoever the Falcons do see as the future of the quarterback position?

Penei Sewell is going to be an All-Pro down the line and he’s ready to go right away. Any team could plug him in at left or right tackle right now and he’d be good to go.

Atlanta would be a good fit because while the Falcons have had a tough few years, they aren’t too far off, talent-wise, from being somewhat competitive — especially with the right replacement for Ryan at quarterback.
