player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. No. 36 overall (2nd round). Jevon Holland. 2. S. 59

Any time you’re compared to Charles Woodson, you know you have a bright future in the NFL ahead of you. Jevon Holland was one of the guys who I thought would go early-to-mid second round but I guess I didn’t quite peg him as the fourth pick of round two on Friday evening.

After watching his teammate go in the first round, he didn’t have to wait but 20 minutes on Friday night to hear his name called, going to the Miami Dolphins.

Miami needed a safety but I thought TCU’s Trevon Moehrig would be the first one off the board in round two. To my surprise, Holland was that guy and I think Miami got someone who is going to be a star in the league and a starter for a long time.

Holland opted out of the 2020 season like fellow defensive back draft picks Brady Breeze and Thomas Graham Jr. and it clearly didn’t hurt his stock. Sure, he could have been a first-rounder but I’m sure he’ll settle for being in the first five picks of the second round.

The star safety had 66 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, four interceptions, four pass breakups, and a touchdown in a breakout sophomore year in 2019. Miami will be very happy with this one.
