What a month it’s been for Oregon football recruiting.

For the fifth time in less than two full weeks, the Ducks have landed a 2022 class commit. Four-star receiver Isaiah Sategna committed to the Ducks over USC just about a month after decommitting from Texas A&M and visiting Eugene. He was down to Oregon and USC and felt at home with Mario Cristobal and the Ducks.

Sategna joined five-star offensive lineman Kelvin Banks Jr., four-star receiver Nicholas Anderson, and three-star linemen Cameron Williams and Michael Wooten as the other July pledges.

After the flurry of commitments on July 1 (Anderson, Williams, Wooten), the Ducks jumped about 10 spots from No. 10 all the way into the top 10 of the national recruiting rankings for 2022. Banks had them hovering around the 8-9 spot and now the verbal from Sategna has the Ducks up to No. 7 officially as of Sunday night.

With some other top Oregon targets still on the board such as Cyrus Moss, Dave Iuli, Tetairoa McMillan, Jalil Tucker, Brenen Thompson, Caden Curry, and Darrius Clemons who could all pick the Ducks in the end, a top-five finish to the 2022 class is very possible.

Oregon football on track to finish No. 1 in the Pac-12 again

For three straight years, the Ducks have had the No. 1 recruiting class in the Pac-12 and that was good enough for a top-10 spot nationally in two out of three of those years. If the current hot streak continues for Oregon in 2022, a No. 1 class in the Pac-12 will probably be a lock and top-10 is likely — maybe even top-five.

The Ducks have gone from the 20-30 range nationally at the end of June all the way to No. 7 in just about two weeks. Those panicking about Cristobal’s 2022 class are currently eating all the crow.

Oregon football recruiting is as strong as it’s ever been.
